globalFEST’s flagship festival takes place each January and is one of North America’s most important and genre-defying global music events, attracting a large number of music industry professionals, members of the press, and music fans.
Produced by globalFEST, this two-day world music forum is held at the Association for Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) conference in New York each January. The conference includes lively discussions and workshops on the latest issues in the world music field, and is geared towards all industry professionals including artists, agents, managers, presenters, press, and more.
We're eager to hear from you about what topics, ideas, and challenges you'd like to address at our annual Wavelengths Conference!
With support from the Ford Foundation, the globalFEST Touring Fund (gFTF) was developed in recognition that world music tours are often inhibited by high start-up costs in the USA and that additional support could play a critical role to artists’ ongoing success following their participation at gF.
Since 2011, the Touring Fund has awarded $109,000 to 33 groups / 200+ individual artists. The program is currently on hold and seeking additional funders to make this work possible.
Please contact globalFEST if your organization is interested in continuing this important work.
